Happy Thursday WonderHere friends!
As I’m sure you’ve been able to see through social media postings, this week we officially opened our doors for WonderHere Summer Camp! These last few days have been a JOY! We’ve so enjoyed seeing kids learn and have fun, and even pout when their parents come pick them up because they want to stay longer. We’ve worked very hard to make these camps a positive experience for kids, so it’s wonderful to see it all come to life. We’ve also worked super hard (with the help of many amazing friends and families) to get our studio looking top notch! So, we want to share our studio’s “before and after” photos with you! Enjoy!

At first we didn’t know how we felt about that big window, but we’ve come to love it! It allows so much light into our play room and the rest of the building. It also gives a sense of transparency and allows for parents to see all the fun things their kids are doing right from the lobby! A big thank you to Travis Cooper Designs for designing our awesome logo, Oscar from The Village at Lake Highlands for building those big shelves, and our big group of friends for helping us paint those high ceilings ????
Office

When we first saw this tiny room, we knew it’d be perfect for an office. I’m super grateful for a space where we can collaborate and dream together!
Play Studio

This space is perfect! It really goes with our vision of providing free, safe, unstructured playtime for kids. This space will also be used for our Dance Camp and Get Moving! Camp during the last weeks of summer (spots still available!) and Dance Classes in the fall (registration opening soon!). What we are still in need of is floor-to-ceiling mirrors for this room (see photo above). Mirrors will not only help with the aesthetics of the room, but it is absolutely crucial for the dance camp and classes. The mirror wall costs approximately $3,000, and we’d love to have it purchased and installed as soon as possible! Any gift of any amount is a HUGE help!

Lots of learning takes place in these rooms! Again, the window came in super handy for keeping track of summer camp competition points ???? A big thanks again to Oscar from The Village at Lake Highlands apartments for building those awesome tables, and to Jay and Vanessa Alperin for helping.
Reading Room

The minute we saw this little nook of the building, we knew it was perfect for a Reading Room. We love having a comfy space for our kiddos to drift off on many literary adventures!
The fact that this space – right in Downtown, the perfect size and layout – is ours… is a dream. We are blessed beyond measure, and just want to bless as many kids and families as we can.
